Not as strong a showing as I'd hoped for from Germany. Poland will have to be Houdini to escape from the bottom of group H now; 2 losses and 0 goals scored.

UPDATE: Houdini was Italian.

I heard from those that watched, that this was the most spirited match yet. Wish I'd seen it.

I expected a better match from the Ukraine. I'm thinking I'll have to revise my brackets.

The meeting of the Continents

Ghana plays African-style football: High energy and very physical. Good passing game. Italy played Euro-ball: Precise passing and opportunistic.

I think we can beat these teams. We have to if we want to advance. Right now CZE and ITA have 3 points; GHA and the US of A: 0.

I think the best we can do at this point is 2nd place. That would be the light at the end of the tunnel, unfortunately that light for the 2nd place team is the oncoming 11:00 AM Brasil Express.

Would have been nice if we had shown up for the game.
We controlled the ball, just couldn't do anything with it past midfield.

I need a heart transplant, mine's broken...

Stunning upset coming in the final minutes of the game! Nakamura handed Japan the lead at 26' and thus the game remained until Cahill nabbed the equalizer at 84'. He lit up the net again at 89', and just shy of 91' Alosi sealed the deal -- Golazo!

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!
