Verizon to share personal data
Monday, March 9, 2009, 08:34 AM - techFoo
Gizmodo has an article about this.

From the comments on the story come boiled down instructions...

- Sign in to the Verizon website.
- On the red bar near the top, hover over "My Verizon."
Click on "My Profile."
(Don't go over to the sub-menu that pops up.)
- In the second section down, under Phone Controls, there's a link to
"View/Edit Privacy (CPNI) Settings." Click on that.
- Voila! Click on the button that says "Don't share my CPNI."
Remember to hit the save button before you leave.

Team Red: FTW
Thursday, June 12, 2008, 07:51 AM - techFoo
So, science confirms my team choice.

It's better to be on the red team than on the blue team in an online multiplayer shooting game, according to researchers.

In the west the colour red is associated with anger and violence. Astrologically it was connected with the war god Mars, whose planet was red. However in China the colour red is associated with good fortune and luck. Both associations would be fine if you wanted to win a game involving shooting things we would have thought.

To the Cherokee red was associated with success and victory, and Wikipedia says
In human color psychology, red is associated with heat, energy and blood, and emotions that stir the blood, including anger, passion, and love.

im n ur base. killn ur blu dudes.

NSA Attacks West Point! Relax, It's a Cyberwar Game

For the second year in a row, the Army placed first over the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and others, winning geek bragging rights and the privilege of holding onto a gaudy, 60-pound brass trophy festooned with bald eagles and American flags. Adams credits the team’s thorough preparation and their excellent teamwork despite the round-the-clock schedule.

W00t! Go Army!

Everyone who knows me knows I use Firefox because it is more secure than IE -- being divorced from the OS and all. But even Firefox can produce some vulnerabilities. So let me introduce you to NoScript. I've been using it for about two weeks now, and recommend using it.
